BOCCONI UNIVERSITY | BOARDROOM
Milan | 2011

In 2011 inside the rationalist building designed by Giuseppe Pagano, we were commissioned a boardroom where there was previously a lecture hall. The hall was created as a mono-material volume in Travertine marble cut against the vein, the volume remains detached of the external facades by walls in which windows were inserted to allow both the passage of natural light and artificial lighting so that diffused and natural light create the same effect. In the false ceiling, also made of marble, niches have been created that house the lighting and air conditioning diffusers; the doors are also made of marble applied on panels with an aluminum honeycomb structure. An oval table with a metal frame covered in leather with a dark character has been placed in the center of the room to contrast with the brightness of the surroundings. Inside the large table, an original mechanism hides monitors within the structure that come out automatically through hidden motors.
